The Lost Scroll of the Physician Blog

The Lost Scroll of the Physician centers around a mysterious scroll which happens to be a real-life document. The Edwin Smith Medical Papyrus is the oldest manual of medical surgery that we have ever found and is dated to the Second Intermediate Period, an era in history that we’ve only just begun to learn more about. I’ve always been fascinated by civilizations’ lost pockets of time and once I started learning more about this enigmatic blip in Ancient Egypt’s expansive past, the more drawn in I became.

Hello Canada,

I wanted to be a fairy warrior princess when I grew up. My friends and I spent our recesses writing stories and acting out adventures: rescuing princes from evil wizards, practicing archery on horseback, attending balls to spy on a villainous lord.

I used to play dress up in long velvet gowns. I still do that, sometimes, but to be honest I think I look better in my black button-up shirt and floral-print bowtie. Gender is like that for me—dress up. It can be a lot of fun.

National Authors' Day

On National Authors’ Day, we’d like to thank authors for transporting us to new and old worlds with their writing. Thanks to them, our imaginations are given wings to fly on adventures without us ever having to leave the comfort of our reading nooks.

"The way they can weave words into such vivid imagery and make us feel so connected to the characters and places they write about will always amaze me."
